In this 1922 photograph, you will notice a number of warships in the distance sailing past the Los Angeles Harbor Lighthouse. One night in the 1930s, the keepers were awakened when the tower shook like an earthquake. One of warships had struck the breakwater. Photos like this provide a time machine into our nation’s past.
